2001 Toyota Tundra Won't Go Over 70 Mph
Typically when the car will not accelerate past.
2001 toyota tundra won't go over 70 mph. Started out of the blue last Sunday. For example the normal mode up shift will happen around 37 mph and the power mode up shift will occur around 47 mph. Can I drive it to the dealership--its a 30 mile drive.
I had to go 40 to 50 mph on the highway to work this morning and the rpm were not getting over 3000 rpm. Turn your Toyotas engine on and turn the overdrive on. The beeper and the lights flashed every time.
Stopped the truck started again and all smooth for 30 minutes of driving at speeds over 50 mph Then same thing Monday. My car has 32000 miles. Thanks for sending in your question.
At higher speeds I do not notice it. I recently took my 2001 Rav4 into my local Toyota garage for a problem with the transmission. I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra that wont rev passed 3000 rpm and have engine code that says maf or vaf Circuit malfunction I just replaced the maf what could it be.
As I slowed to say 45 mph it got worse if anything then disappears below 40 mph. I bet I tried it 50 times. Oil leaking into spark plugs galley car wont start.
Eventually the failure started occurring while driving at very slow speeds. This morning I got in and the check engine light was on and when I pulled out on a busy street and punched the gas I could not get up to speed. Toyota carried over the first-gen frame design which allowed moisture to get into the frame and cause rust and corrosion from the inside out.
